I guess you need Horses in Heaven...

I swear it just never ends....today Candy died. Dad didn't last long without a horse! She was one of his favorites. If I remember right, she was born on the ranch and my dad 'broke' her and rode her for many years. He trained her to be a fast walker because that was good I guess. I have a picture of all my babies on her, if I had a scanner I would put them on here. She has been all of my kids first ride on a horse as well as lots of cousins and friends. She will be missed. Thank You Candy for all the wonderful rides!
....these are from 2006,
You know how songs can just hit the spot and instantly you are back to your childhood and they can just trigger a memory in an instant?? Well, I wanted to put a song on my playlist just for this post. I couldn't find it on playlist.com, Mykah added Wildfire instead but it just isn't the one I wanted. I guess there are not a lot of Michael Martin Murphy fans who want to hear The Running Blood on their playlists. It reminds me of racing my sisters back to the ranch from the old saw mill. We all swore we would grow up to be jockeys, we were professionals! I rode Sunny Boy (he was always the winner) Shar rode Candy and Mandy got Sassy. Nothing makes you feel like you own the world yet have no worries like a good run on a horse! Freedom? Yes, that is the word. I need to refresh my memory by doing this again. I think I need to go back to the ranch even though I have tears running down my cheek as I think about it just typing this. I don't want to but something tells me I should.....So get on itunes and give it a listen...for me?

wow! You were busy today! I remember your ranch and learning how to put a saddle on a horse and "racing" horses. It was so much fun and one of my favorite memories. I enjoyed seeing pictures of your mom, Mandy and Johnny - wow! He is always 5 in my mind!

Oh I am soo sad to hear about Candy... My girls loved riding her last year... She was so patient with them going round and round so everyone got a chance to ride her. That makes me sad she was such a good horse... I'm glad Uncle Mike gets to have her in heaven too... Love you guys

I am sad that Candy died too! and yes you need to go to the ranch and take your kids because your dad lived his whole life so you could take your kids there to ride horses. He left the ranch for the kids and grandkids and he would be so sad if you didn't go back. Think of the ranch as a good place not a sad place. You can hardly go anyplace that your dad hasn't been before you.
