REPORT CARDS

I am happy to report that report cards went VERY well for this term!! We all know how proud this makes us parents so I am going to brag for a minute!!!!

TAD-he pulled off a 3.1 gpa this term! Many of you may think this is not that wonderful but for Tad it may as well be a 4.0! He got mostly A's, a B+, one C and one D. I am still in shock he passed physics! More than anything I am elated that his citizenship looked just as impressive.....no U's!! This is the best ever and he works very hard for his grades! He was thrilled to get news his car insurance is a little cheaper now. Mainly, because he was told a few weeks ago he had to pay for it from now on! Thank Heavens he is NOT 14 anymore!
We love you Tad...keep up the good work!

MYKAH-she was able to pull off the exact same 3.571 gpa as she did first term! That in itself is pretty hard to do! She is and has always been a model student! It was not a 4.0 but she was able to do that twice last year! Mykah is on the block scheduale so she has an extra class and gets an extra science credit for taking two science classes. She is very busy with student government and outside of school plays soccer two nights a week.
Mykah you are my lifesaver!

AVERIE-I would like to post the teachers comments:
Averie works cooperatively and contributes valuable information and ideas to class discussions,demonstrating a lively interest in all areas of curriculum. Her abilities to organize information, contribute productively to class discussions, develop a plan, and problem-solve a challenging situation have enriched our classroom discussions. Responsibility and accountability describe Averie's approach to homework assignments and class activities. She consistently strives to meet all obligations with her best efforts and in a timely manner. Averie is a skilled peer tutor, who gives generously to students who request her help. She asks excellent questions and works skillfully to deepen her understanding of new topics. She is an organized, conscientiuos student, who thoroughly enjoys learning and creating. Averie takes pride in her work and especially enjoys activities involving teamwork, music and drama.
Why is it we clash so bad??!!
What more can a mother want?.....a sister who gets along with her siblings?

SPENCER-has recently been diagnosed with pretty severe learning issues and with help from many resources he has improved dramatically over the past month and a half!
Here are his teachers comments:
Spencer is a joy to work with. He is kind and cooperative at all times. He is working and making some progress but needs to put more effort into completing tasks. He does very well at doing and returning homework and at home reading assignments (I have to add a...THANK YOU to LISA!!-SPENCER'S TUTOR). Spencer has made excellent progress in his student skills. He is more confident and successful in every subject. He seems to be thinking more clearly and shows less confusion when doing his assignments. His fluency rate improved despite being asked to read a more difficult passage.
WOW! See Skip, we knew you could do it! It won't be easy but it's not impossible! Hang in there bud...one day at a time!

FYI...we do NOT pay our kids a dime for good grades. We don't believe in that. If they are lucky they might earn an ice cream. I feel they need to do it for their own satisfaction not for mine. Report cards don't equal payday in our house. So yes, I am happy for their efforts.
