DECORATING THE NEST

This is the view out of my kitchen window. Last spring we had a Mamma Robin build this nest. She layed eggs and we had baby birds right outside the window....it was kinda cool to watch! The twins love it, especially Grace. We woke up this morning and noticed that the nest in our tree was getting a makeover. Our Mamma Bird is back! Bo, Grace & I watched her bringing clumps of grass back to the nest. They were so cute watching her. If the window wasn't there I could reach into the nest....it is that close. They whisper so they won't scare her. After a few minutes Grace whispers, "Look mom, our Mamma Bird is decorating her nest!" These are the baby birds from last year. I took these pictures on Averie's birthday so I expect to have more baby birds by the end of May! I didn't take any pictures of the tiny blue eggs but I will for sure this year! I am usually not that tuned in to nature but I thought these were pretty cool! I noticed when I compared the pictures that instead of the pink flowers that are on the tree now it has the leaves on the tree by the time the birds hatched......observant aren't I??? Averie said that she wrote it down and the birds hatched last year on May 19th. So far no eggs yet....HAPPY SPRING!!
