Dinosaur Park

I will admit I was not excited to go on this field trip at all! I was hoping Derek would take them.... I had stuff to do and it was HOT! They knew it was coming so there was no way I could just decide to do a no show.....they were sooooo excited! It turned out to be for the first time since they were born, I took them somewhere by myself and it was enjoyable! Whoever said twins are easier after the first year have not met Bo & Grace! It took us 4 and a half!
Turned out to be the best day of Bo's life and Grace's worst nightmare! I will say if it was just her this would have been the shortest field trip ever! She was scared to death! To start, right after lunch she tried to pick a flower and fell on a stick and got a microscopic cut on her thumb....ruined! Grab the first aid kit cuz she just might die from that spec of blood! Notice her holding her hand or sucking it because "IT STINGS!" in the pictures....it was a real problem. She loved making a craft but when we went to walk through the park and you can hear the dinosaur noises?? She freaked! Bo immediately turned around (I say turned around because he was leading the way.....and not waiting for us! Surprise!) and said, "Mom, that's just a cd huh?....(before I could answer) Grace it's ok, it is just a cd." (That comment alone made my day.....pretty funny I thought!) It took almost an hour for her to let go of my pant leg. On the other hand, Bo was in pure heaven all day! You know the saying...."Rules are made to be broken"? Today he took that to the full extent....you know the paths that you are supposed to stay on and the ropes and bars you DO NOT CROSS! You are not supposed to touch the dinosaurs! Well he really did not care....he loves dinosaurs, even his bedroom is dinosaurs and he was gonna get his moneys worth! I am pretty sure he asked me to take a picture of him with just about every dinosaur in the park and as you will be able to see....he did not stay on the path! I figured I could yell at him all day and ruin it for he & I....Grace was already there....or not care and if a "park police" had words with him then maybe he would listen? I have to say I am glad I went, we had a ball and I am still laughing at the cd remark!

My FAVORITES of the day......

She wanted a flower but didn't want to let go of my leg.
Bo went & picked it for her & said,

"now you don't need to be scared Grace"

When she did this a mom sitting by me asked if I thought there could be some OCD in her future! I wasn't sure how to take that! I think she is just creative and a perhaps a bit odd. She makes pictures out of things like breaks apart french fries and makes smiley faces or draws with her ketchup! Averie was the same way......this is just my Grace :)

Here is the slide show of the rest of the day. I took tons of pictures & I love them all. Bo and all the dinosaurs that he was not supposed to touch! All these areas are roped off and you can see in most of them he is not on any path or else it is behind him! Grace is such a sweetheart who always, always...ALWAYS has to stop and smell the flowers!
