Family Update

Seems we are experiencing the calm before the storm I guess I will give you all an update on what is going on in our world.....besides bunnies!

Tad decided not to play Lacrosse this year so no spring games for him........He brought home his highest gpa thus far, a 3.444! He graduates this year & we decided to take him & Spencer to Hawaii to celebrate this huge accomplishment! We took the girls 2 years ago so it is the boys turn. That trip was actually my first post & the reason I started this blog! I can't believe we are lucky enough to get to go back already! Nicolette can't come but is excited (we all are) for Orlando in the fall. He has been working hard at the shop, spending time & money updating his motorcycle (like father like son) & can't wait to ride! He wants to try Widowmaker this year. Even though he has poor Nicolette doing his laundry now....he has ZERO plans to get married, so don't even ask!!!!!!!!

Mykah had try outs for the AYSO All-star Soccer co-ed team but didn't make it. She cried, I felt bad for her, it is a bummer. My point of view.....I strongly dislike the guy that is "the Coach". He is a jerk. I don't like how he conducts himself on & off the field. She didn't find out he was involved until 2 days before the try-outs. She almost didn't bother to go because of him. Honestly, I really don't think I would have let her play for him. She says there is nowhere else she can go because they all have who they want & she feels like if "the Coach" didn't pick her then she just isn't good enough. Like I told her, the main reason I dislike "him" is because he has made her feel like that! So......no soccer here unless she finds another team. I think I will start helping her look! Other than that she works a lot at Nielsen's & just got a raise. They told her she was next in line for manager. She also works hard at keeping up with all these rabbits! School is getting old this time of year but her grades are good! She managed to get a 3.3, yes Tad actually got a higher gpa!! Keep in mind he only has 3 classes, all are electives & I believe Nicolette helps him more than I want to know. I take into consideration that she is going to school, had to take night school for drivers ed for part of the term, she has a part-time job but works more than her share, played soccer on an indoor team twice a week & rabbits take up quite a bit of her time! Mykah is an over achiever & work-a-holic like her dad!

Averie is signed up for softball but it has not started yet.....she will be transferring to Legacy Jr. High next year. Her grades are beyond anything I could ever imagine for a 7th grader, especially because of the fact she is in very hard classes at a charter school which operates on an accelerated learning program. Averie is naturally very smart. She got a 3.81 & was NOT thrilled. I am. Last term she got a 4.0 so this was just not up to speed in her eyes! Citizenship was all "H's" & she is a SBO. I actually encourage her to spend less time on schoolwork because she obsesses over it to the point that I feel it is not a good thing.
She is constantly correcting me.....the conversation we just had went like this:
I said, "Practice makes perfect!"
to which she replied, "No. Practice makes permanent. If you practice something it doesn't necessarily mean you are doing it right. If you practice wrong then you just learned how to do something wrong really good. That can be permanent."
What am I supposed to say?
She & I butt heads constantly. She reminds me of myself & my mother, which explains a lot.
She has debated on asking the Tolman's to officially adopt her. :)

Spencer has no interest in anything but hockey, motorcycles & George....
I am still hoping he will WANT to play football. I think he would be good at it & enjoy it if we could just get him through the practices & to the first game. Maybe this year with his migraines under control he will want to try?? He transferred to Bluff Ridge & loves being able to wear normal clothes & ride his bike to school. So far I am very unimpressed with the resource teacher & hope I didn't just make the BIGGEST mistake of my life by putting him back in public school. On the positive side, he has had friends knocking at the door everyday since he went back! This is huge! He is looking forward to the Widowmaker Hillclimb which is June 25 & 26 this year. He is hoping for another 1st place! He is very excited & nervous to go to Hawaii.

Bo is signed up for t-ball.....can't wait for that! I REALLY am thrilled he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall!! He doesn't want to be in the same class with Grace. She tends to cling to him & tell me what he does wrong. Thank You Easter Bunny for bringing the trampoline! Bo jumps on it everyday!

Grace will be practicing her cheerleading skills cheering for Bo & Ave this summer! Her dance recital is coming up in June & I can't wait! She is more than ready for "big school" & wants to be in the same class with Bo! Grace is a very good artist. Her teacher pulled me aside to say in all the years she has owned the pre-school she hasn't seen drawings like hers.

Derek-thinks he is still in his 20's & wants to climb in Widowmaker.....hmmmmm?? Went on his last snowmobile ride for the season last weekend....whew! Can you hear me let out a sigh of relief? He made it through another year alive.

Me-Just trying to stay happy & keep up! Need to get some Cherry Hill passes. I can't wait for graduation, baby bunnies, dance recital, Widowmaker, softball, T-ball, football??, school to be over & start in the fall, HAWAII, ORLANDO & wish I could magically lose 100 pounds in 2 months!....not gonna happen, maybe 10 is more realistic!

There ya have it!

Practice does not make perfect, Perfect practice makes perfect.
She can not argue that one. An old coach of mine used to always tell me that. I have never forgot it and always use on my kids.
Thanks for the early Christmas card. You did a great job updating us all. We needed it.
You always look fantastic, If you know how to lose a 100 lbs that fast, which does not require or thousands of dollars, or hard work. Please let me in on the secret.

I know the secret to weight loss, GET DIVORCED! The pants start falling off, your checks get sunken in. BUT, then you fall in love with a new guy and gain it all back.

As far as the update.... Thank you. I am so glad you have this blog.

I had NO idea you pulled the kids mid year from the charter school. HOLY SHIT! I will keep my opinions to myself about public school. I do however agree with the friend part, it's so important.

YAY for Hawaii! You guys will have a blast. I love that Spence is NERVOUS! I know that issue all to well, I couldn't drive to Draper with Hunter.

And Dee is right, YOu always LOOK AMAZING!

I love you!

HA ha! Too funny because just this morning I thought I should tell Dee that the only other secret to weight loss that I have SEEN is D I V O R C E! I guess I haven't tried that one yet!
AMAZING?! Whatever to you both! That is quite a stretch!!....but thank you!
Yes I took Spencer out after 3rd term so he could maybe get his feet in the door for 6th grade. I worried that he NEVER plays with anyone (except Nick during hockey) & he thrives at hockey. He ends up in trouble all the time because he never gets away from home....that part has been wonderful but the Special Ed. Teacher, that is a post by itself! NIGHTMARE!
I cannot even tell you how excited I am to get to go to HAWAII again & only 2 years since the last time. I have been on cloud 9 for days!
I am so glad you like my blog....I feel like it is a waste of time sometimes but I guess I love it too!

BLOGGING IS NOT A WASTE OF TIME! go read your first few months of posts. If you are like me, it will feel like you are reading someone else's life. I can't even remember half the stuff I write. I read my post the other day about when I ate the crayon because I thought it was candy.... I'm a winner I know, but I had forgotten all about that. I love that we have this to look back on and it's so much easier for me than scrapbooking. ZERO mess.

I hope you keep this up, because I love knowing what's going on with you and the kids.

Dee texted me last week to ask why I hadn't posted for awhile. My response, "I am giving you a taste of your own medicine." She stresses when she doesn't know what's going on with you and I, but do you think she will blog for us? NOPE!

I hope she reads this comment so she doesn't think I am talking about her behind her back. :)

My life is just not as fun as the 2 of you. I will not post a blog because then you will both be on my back for how long it takes me to blog. I would much rather escape my life and read about everyone else's.

I love you both.
