Day at the Races

Winterfest Snow Drags

Ogden, UT.

Derek entered in the Snow Drag Races at the Winterfest on Saturday. We all went up to cheer him on. We had fun despite the crappy weather. It poured rain for 2 solid hours! This was a first for the event so they were also about 2 hours behind schedule working out unexpected kinks...... There was a crash like the second race & it caused some technical difficulties as well. The kids (& myself) were so excited to watch their Dad that they toughed it out. We were all FREEZING & WET before he ever even raced!!

Reggie came to visit for the weekend, he is such a good boy! We have missed him. It has been a long time since he has been with us!

Obviously Averie was thrilled to be there!

I was so nervous...the sleds were reaching speeds over 100 mph by the finish line & it was not a safe setting at all! The only thing separating the crowd & the track was a plastic net. We sat by the finish line & the one crash of the day happened right in front of us! I had walked to the car & missed it but my mom was pretty impressed. I called Derek to see what his # was so I could listen as they announced it & would know when to watch for him.....yes #13 on the 13th....GREAT!! I am totally superstitious.

Derek did great & had fun!

After his first race I was not nervous at all. He makes it look so easy. He won several times but ended up getting eliminated as the day went on. All of the money went to charity. I am sure he will do it again! He was in heaven....racing snowmobiles up the middle of a city street & have it legal?....yes, HEAVEN!

After a few races Gma took the kids home.

They were more than ready!
Reggie & Bo have been best buds all weekend!
