Nesting....bunny nesting

The time has come.

Time to prepare the nursery.

Valentines Day.....Sunday was spent out in the garage setting up our delivery room/nursery. Romantic, I know. Tad & Derek were awesome & helpful & patient. Mykah & I couldn't do it alone....well we could but it would be difficult & take us a lot longer! The boys helped us haul hay & feed to the shed. They loaded up all these cages I bought then took them to the car wash for a thorough cleansing. I like stuff clean. Derek is biting his tongue & against all demands he has allowed our bunnies to reside in the garage temporarily. He may not admit but I don't think he liked seeing 5 dead baby bunnies. He really is a tender heart underneath. That is mostly why I love him.

I believe we are as ready as we can get. We should have lots of bunnies by the weekend. I am a nervous wreck.

Moo is weird.

She thinks she is a bird.

She sits in her "nest"

....not what they are supposed to do....

it is ok but not the norm

she did this last time

when we gave up & took it out

(a day too soon)

she just eats & eats & eats.

She is a nervous eater.

We are expecting 4-6 kits from her.

Penelope is a veteran Mommy.

This is just her first litter with us.

She is pretty chill about things.

Her litter may be small, only like 3-5 kits.

Tiki is also a veteran.

She is our only mini-rex girl.

Sweet girl but very skittish & shy.

We were told she has about 8 kits!

Poppy.....the Nervous Nellie!

I think she is the only one more anxious than I am.

We are expecting a large littler from her of at least 7 kits!

She is a first time mommy....

She is constantly arranging her nest & pulling TONS of fur!

I hope all goes well.

Odds are some will die.

That is normal.

Plan do our best to make sure that does not happen.

I am watching them constantly.

I am a dork.

I really like these rabbits.

I don't know why?

I don't even hold them, they scare me a little.

But I do like them.

Not exactly sure what I will do when

the bunnies are actually born?

I hope I am not totally grossed out.

I think I will be.

Maybe my "motherly instincts" will kick in!
