Just thought I would let you know that so far this week....starting on Tuesday night....I have attended 13 hockey games!!!
With Tad & Dexter in the playoffs & Spencer on a travel team.....yes 13 in one week! Actually the last one will be Dexter's tomorrow night but that is Monday so it still falls within a 7 day period.
That is a lot of HOCKEY!
We went to Tad & Dexter's games on Tuesday & Wednesday....Tad's didn't even start until like 9:15 or 9:45, I honestly do not remember for sure. I am sure of the fact that it was after midnight both nights & the whole "fam-damily" went to cheer for our boys! This is kind of a challenge with 6 kids who all have school the next day. Thursday night just Tad had a game at 8:15 (mind you these all are at the Steiner Rink by the University of Utah, NOT CLOSE TO OUR HOUSE!) & because we had Science Fair projects due & a huge creative writing assignment along with a weekend out of town coming up, Averie stayed home with the kids. Mykah had to work so just Derek & I for that one....we found out he had another game the next night because they won. Spencer was going to be in a tournament in Rock Springs & we planned to leave Friday after school so we weren't able to be there....like I have had time to pack! Keep in mind I am not telling you about haircuts, doctor visits, going to my "workout" & nail appointments that I somehow managed to fit in....Oh yes & hockey practice for Spencer....
I still count Tad's Friday night game in my 13 because I got play by play updates the whole game from my Mom via text messages. I was glued to my phone & it was nerve racking!! They lost & ended up with a silver medal. Not bad & he played a great game! Had they won my number would have been 14 games because he would have had to play Saturday. So for his high school hockey career he ended up with one gold & one silver. They were State Champs his sophomore year.
Anyway, so now we are in Rock Springs with Spencer, Ave, Bo & Grace. Saturday Spencer had 3 games & I was there watching him for all 3. He is awesome when it comes to hockey. He had to try-out for this team. We just figured out Saturday that he is the youngest player on the team & the only one in 5th grade! There are a few in 6th grade & most in 7th! Another parent heard us talking & was shocked that he is so young....His exact words "WOW SPENCER! No WAY! I can't believe you're only in 5th grade! You are a force to be reckoned with!" He is double tough & fast on his skates! I am not very proud or anything.....
OK, sorry.... focus.... so before Spencer's last game on Saturday I attended Dexter's game at Steiner play-by-play via text message from my friend Dee. If Viewmont won it was for the Championship....they were expected to win. They are undefeated (i think the whole season) so far in the playoffs. It is double elimination so IF they win, they take State. IF they lose then they play on Monday. BUMMER! Monday I will be going to my last game of the week for Dexter. I still have my fingers crossed.
After the upsetting loss for Dex (over the phone) Spencer played his last game of the day.
Today was the 4th game in the Tournament....they lost & like Tad took 2nd place. They still got a trophy & we had a great time!
We came home to sit down & watch the gold medal game in the Olympics. I wanted to watch it before anyone told me the results....
DANG! Another "let down" but YES a GREAT HOCKEY GAME!!!
I counted this game too. It counts, I watched the entire thing, plus OT!!
There ya have it...I guess I can safely say I am a HOCKEY FAN,
I am for sure a "HOCKEY MOM".
p.s. I have some pics from our trip....
I don't take many hockey pictures.
They usually look like crap!
The older boys move too fast & will not pose for me anymore!
